Friday's Favorites: Shopping

I love to shop!! Shopping is definitely a weakness in my house. Brian and I used to drive to Grapevine for shopping trips when we first started dating! I do hate buying things at full price though (especially for Brady). I always look for coupons and sales.

If you know me then you know my ABSOLUTE favorite place to shop for anything is Target! I love Target. They always have a great ladies selection! Right now they have a ton of cute summer dresses. You can usually find me at Target 4-5 a week! I'm really hoping WF will build a Super T so I can buy my groceries there!!

My favorite place to shop for Brady is The Children's Place. I love their clothes! They wash so well. They have great end of the season sales and almost always have a 15-20% off coupon. Every year for Christmas and Brady's birthday our families get Brady gift cards to TCP. We buy fall/winter clothes with his B-day gift cards and spring/summer clothes with his Christmas cards. It works out great!

The Rangers are turning into a pretty AWESOME t-ball team! They are starting to get a better feel for what they are supposed to do out there. Of course they still all race to the ball every time it is hit, but now they know to throw it to first! All the boys are so adorable out there. We love being a part of this team! Friday's Favorites: Nurseries

 I have been following A Love Worth Waiting For  for a couple of years now. Every Friday she always post her favorites for the week. This week she is posting her nursery ideas! I'm sure it will be years (2-3) before Brian and I have another baby, but just in case it's sooner than that I am already thinking about nursery ideas! What's going on?

2011 seems like it is flying by! We rang in the new year with my sister, Jenn and Spencer, and The Moreno's!

Brian and I started school in late January. I am very busy with school this semester. Thankfully I was able to work at UR over the break, so I am done with my internship!! Brian is basically done with his class for the semester. His job counts as his class.I guess being a police officer does have its perks! We signed Brady up for Transitional Kindergarten at Wichita Christian School. We are so excited he will be attending T-K there. We have heard from so many parents how wonderful the program is!

Brady started T-Ball a couple of weeks ago! He is playing on The Rangers!! T-Ball is all we talk about lately (which is ok with us)! They had their first game on Monday. Talk about HILARIOUS!! They were so cute out there. Brady started the game playing catcher. He looked adorable in all of the gear! Brian said Brady wasn't very happy after the first "inning". Brady didn't like wearing the mask. The boys looked so cute out there and they definitely had a blast! We are looking forward to all the games ahead!

Tristin and Danielle welcomed Riley Michael Dozier into the world Monday night! We are so excited he is finally here. Tristin and Danielle are going to have an amazing story for baby Riley when he gets older.

I am a horrible blogger! 2010 was a very busy year for our family. Here are a few highlights from 2010:

What have The Rhoden's been doing?

What have we been doing since August you ask? Staying pretty busy! The rest of 2009- Brady turned 3 and started a new Preschool, I started school in late Aug. and finished the semester with all A's(first time in my 6 years of school), Brian of course stayed busy with work and taking a class(smarty pants made and A).

2010 seems to be flying by! Brady is going to school two to three days a week in the mornings. We really love his new school and he seems to really like his teacher. He is such a smarty pants like his dad! I am not sure there is a word out there he doesn't know(including potty words) and he is learning the months of the year and the days of the week at school. Each week they work on a new letter and two new numbers.

I have a really busy schedule again this semester. Next week I get to pick where I will be doing my practicum next fall and spring. Right now I have it narrowed down to United Regional and CPS. This is a big decision because I will spend 200 hours there each semester. I have really been praying that God helps put me in the right place.

Between Brian's full time job and his 2 days a week part time job he is pretty busy. We did just found out his part time job is ending this week, so I am sure he will be looking for something else to do on Thursday and Friday afternoons.

Well that is definitely a very brief summary of what has been going on in our lives. I will try my hardest to get on an update more often!

Happy 2 Year Anniversary!

Brian and I celebrated our two year anniversary on August 3rd. Instead of exchanging gifts we are going to see Notre Dame play in October. We did however go eat some yummy Samuri! Here are some pictures of Brian and I on our wedding day!!

Runners Club

I have joined a small runners club! Well actually I have started going to Sarah's house M-F at 7:30 for a morning run. Sarah and Geri started running everyday at the beginning of the summer. Last Tuesday they asked me if I wanted to join. Of course my first reaction was heck no! Then I decided what would it hurt? So I got up early Tuesday morning and joined Sarah and Geri for a 3 mile run. Let me tell you...I thought I was dying! My side hurt so bad and I really felt like I was going to throw up. I have never considered myself to be a runner and probably never will! Wednesday morning rolls around and I am ready for round 2. It was much easier Wednesday! By Friday I was running and breathing a lot better. Julie even joined us Friday! I decided to start calling us a runners club! This week we ran 15 miles! I am very proud of myself and my fellow runners club members! Next week I am really going to try to run harder to shave some more time off our run. Wish us luck!!

Brady's Turning 3!

Things have been pretty busy around The Rhoden house lately. We have been getting ready for Brady's birthday party! Who can believe my precious little baby will be 3 in two weeks? Brady is having a Diego birthday party at Gymnastics Sports Center. We are so sad that Brady is growing up so quickly, but we are also excited to see him be more active and involved in everything he trys!

On a different note we finished summer school!!! Brian ended up with 3 A's (of course)! I got a B in my Art class in the first summer session and an A in my Drug and Human Behavior class. I am very excited to have the next three weeks off. I am also looking forward to starting school. I will have a very very busy semester. They will all be social work classes and should be pretty interesting. Brian will be taking one class in the fall. I am sure he will ace it!

Dora The Explorer

Camie, Amber and I took the boys to go see Dora in Grand Pr! The boys were so excited! Brady was asking for two days what time we were going to see Dora on Saturday. Dora and boots went on an adventure to the City of Lost Toys. They were joined by Diego for a little while. Brady and Carson were not very happy when Diego left.

They were all so tired after the morning shopping trip and Dora!

It's been to long!

Since my last post The Rhoden family has been pretty busy! I finished Camp Fire camp, Brian and I finished the first summer session. Brian finished with and A and I finished with a B. And we took a little vacation. We took Brady to Dinosaur World in Glen Rose, TX. We really enjoyed Glen Rose. After we checked into our hotel Brian and Brady went swimming and I took pictures. Then we got ready for the evening and went to a pretty good little Mexican Restaurant. Then we just drove around Glen Rose. The town reminded us of Stars Hollow. Stars Hollow is the town on my favorite show Gilmore Girls. It was very historical and in really good condition for a little town. The next day we got up and went to Dinosaur World! The park had over 100 life size dinosaurs. It was really cool. Brian and I were trying to read about each dinosaur but Brady wasn't very interested. He just wanted to go play at the Dino park. We let Brady pick out two things from the gift shop and he picked out these little tiny dinosaurs and a back pack. The next day we spent the day at the Dallas zoo. The zoo was a lot of fun! Brady had a really good time. He loved the monkeys and elephants. Brian and I decided next year if we take Brady to the zoo again we will do it in March or April. It was so HOT!

Random

I am so tired! Camp has really worn me out. This year at Camp Fire camp I am the "camp craft lady". I lead the cookouts (3 grades a day, 4 to 5 groups in each grade, 2 hour time period), lead sing song (my favorite part of the day), set up scavenger hunts, lead the flag ceremony (teach the children to put and take down the flag) and walk around all day to make sure everything is going great! I think in the past three days I have set down a total of 3 times during the day. I love Camp Fire and camp is my favorite time of the year, but man I am TIRED!! Tuesday I let Brady go to the papoose (nursery). He didn't do very well. He didn't like seeing him mommy around all those other children. So we called Brian and he left early. We are going to try it again tomorrow. I also have my cousins little girl Faith this week. She has been a real trooper at camp. I am trying to teach her to swim without holding her nose (I don't want her to be 30 and hold her nose like her momma).

School is going good so far. I have had one test and made an 84 on it. I am pretty happy with an 84!

One Year Anniversary

Brian celebrated his one year anniversary as a Wichita Falls Police Officer on May 23. To celebrate all of the officers and families from his academy got together for a cookout.

Happy Birthday Brian! Yesterday Brian celebrated his 24th birthday. For Brian's birthday(my birthday and Christmas) we are going to the Notre Dame vs. Washington St. game in October. Thank you Darla for raising such an a wonderful man!

A Little Break

Have I mentioned how HAPPY I am school is out! I had a very stressful last month this semester. I am so happy it is over. I ended up with 3 B's and 1 C. I will take it! This summer I am taking Art Appreciation, Economics and Intro to Substance Abuse. Brian is also taking some summer classes. I am so proud of him for going back to school. As most of you know we really want to move, and with a degree he will get paid more. He will also have better opportunities to get promoted. So until June 1st I get to do nothing!!!
